Players of the Academy, Shashank won gold and Latika won silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Taekwondo Championship

Sports Minister felicitated the medal winners

In the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championship held in Montreal, Canada on 27th-28th September 2017, player of the Madhya Pradesh Martial Art Academy, Shashank Patel performed splendidly and won a gold medal for the country. Likewise, academy’s sportswoman Latika Bhandari earned a silver medal and made the state and the country proud.
In the final match of the under-78 kg weight category, Shashank Singh defeated the player from Canada, the host country, and won gold. In addition to this, Latika Bhandari secured a silver medal in the under-53 kg weight category.

State’s Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Hon. Yashodhara Raje Scindia has expressed her joy over this achievement of the players of the academy and has felicitated the medal winners, Shashank Singh and Latika. Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, Mr Upendra Jain also appreciated the excellent performance of the players of Taekwondo Academy at international level. Player of the academy, Nakul Malhotra also participated in the championship. Academy’s coach Mr B. L. N. Moorti is training all these players.
